“Yeah Cricket?”

Rogerson adjusted his sleeves as he prepared to leave. “You’re a little too young to comprehend things like this Cricket.”
“Am not!”
“Point proven.” Rogerson said as the car beeped impatiently for him. “Anyways I’ll catch you later brat,”

Cricket sat there wondering why she had refused Leon’s hug. They’ve hugged many times before, why would last time’s be any different?
It was just a normal day. Grandpa made lunch for us while Mom was at work, Cricket came over to play and sis was too busy prepping for her job to even join in the conversation. Yup, just a usual day… sis even had to leave halfway through lunch because her carpool came!
